Never in all my years of retail consumerism have I dealt with a company with such little care for customer service. The women are rude and disrespectful, and the men are only slightly competent.

In 1 full year, I tried to rent a machine from Howland's upwards of 5 times. All 5 times, I was told it was on the books, ready to go. First time out was one week. Then they called and said it was double booked. "This never ever happens, [they] have new staff, and will fix it." It was going to be one month out. Then they called again, double booked again. 2 months. Called again. Double booked. Again, again, again. I've put off major work on my land for 1 year now, because this is the only tractor rental company close to me. All others are an additional 30+ mins and even further miles away.

I met Mr. Howland, he seemed nice. Gentle older fellow who seemed like he would want his store run correctly.

I will NEVER AGAIN RENT OR BUY from Howland's because of the utter inability to do their jobs.

I worked a desk job and as cashier for many, many years. I know they are both complicated, and working with others isn't easy.
But I can tell you that I have NEVER DARED to run my job as poorly as they do here.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. BUY A TRACTOR.

Awesome locally owned hardware store. Rented a stump grinder. Had an issue with the fuel filter, and they drove out and repaired it immediately. Great service. Thank you.

Walked in to smiles from a very pretty lady at the counter. Sorry that I forgot her name but she was a new employee. Immediate help and walked us to isle 19 where we needed to go. At checkout the very handsome cashier was amazing. Greatshopping experience. Love Howlands.
