While they were the only organization that allowed me to maintain my health coverage in 2011-2012 by covering the costs of my COBRA insurance. They allowed me to become completely without any healthcare and allowed my ability to get on another private insurance plan to just pass it's due date. I called several times to let them know this would occur if wasn't addressed. They said they had no appointments to be able to see me though to address this until a date 45 days after. When I met with a case worker for that appointment I was they wished I had let them know it was going to lapse. The blame was put on me. I explained I had done all that I could to explain I had told the receptionist, left messages on several voicemails and had it not been for the way I was treated by the Community Counseling Center, I would have just sat and waited in the office until someone saw me. (Which if you run into an organization who gives you a brush off, this is what I advise. Don't be rude, Don't threaten. Just have your paperwork ready and make sure that they understand you need help and are not leaving until you are either given an appointment to help you or are told they wont help you) These days if this were done to me I would have sat in front of their business with a sign saying the organization would rather me be sick than to try and alter their appointment schedule.

So this is a resource, but make sure to have another couple options to pursue and know (as many non charity groups_ they are more interested in their rules and scheduling than your needs. The non-profit world in Las Vegas tends to have an attitude of self rightousness which, when disrespect or a difficult case comes along, they would rather the person in need go away.

Bad news.Lots of talk. No action. Time wasters. Place you on endless holds. No food boxes as promised.

I was so happy for these services that this organization had, but in the last month they seem not to care about their clients health issues and would rather you be without healthcare and homeless. This past week I know they have been busy with clients and appointments, but don' seem to care about anyone but them self's. There really just want there paycheck so they can live peacefully and not care about anyone needs

In 6 years of "doing what they do" they still can't get it right. Ever since they took over services that AFAN did they can't ever compare. This place has always been a headache with kinda rude client care, a corporate big insurance approach to a nonprofit issue. They're more salesperson than caring. They can't even keep their own appointments correct. I had an appointment for the 15th scheduled since the 2nd; and when I show up they're surprised and the person I'm scheduled with though in the office can't see me; and they have to "find someone who can". Their overall attitude seems entitled rather than helpful. It is a true shame that this is still the only place people can go. In 6 years they have moved locations at least 3 times which to me seems very unprofessional; and unreliable. I wish AFAN could out-bid them like ATHN did to them; or at the very least this place could actually figure out how to do the work they do. Updated...at 6 months later.... had to do another appointment....and yet still....this place has no clue what they're doing.... a lady calls me...not my caseworker....who has no access to any of my information....which was sent neo-cert mail...and she cant find my paperwork. So she asks me to resend everything....this place is so unpleasant and and unprofessional. They ask if you want your work Insurance paid by them. Even if you don't they still want your employer to fill out a questionnaire for them. This is so redundant and ridiculous. This place absolutely sucks. The worst facilitator for the cause.
